This strikes me as a good way to go: The whole ball for seven hundred or so. You can probably also get a nice little phono stage for a couple hundred. I'll bet you can get a nice used one that has been inspected and serviced by a dealer for about five hundred bucks. My feeling is that a lot of people trade these in.
